Now here I could be accused of serious bias, only he really is good. The truth is my son Thom is living my dream. He is doing keyboard studies at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Here he is studying performance, his course concentrating on classical music. He is also an accomplished jazz pianist and nobody should be surprised if he doesn’t become as famous as Prudence Fairweather intends to be. At the moment you should catch him in concert with the RNCM Big Band under the leadership of Mike Hall. They attract some famous jazz players to come and guest with the band. So far Thom as been able to play with Victor Mendoza, Digby Fairweather (no relation to Prudence, as far as I know that is),Tim Garland and Dennis Rollins.
Thomas has various bands available for bookings, the best known of which I have included details of here. They are the small ‘Booth St West’ who as well as having brilliant instrumentalists, also have a brilliant young singer. The Big Little Band is a jazz funk outfit, around eleven strong and great for parties. Thomas also organised a brilliant classical evening and plans to do more of these in the future. |
